The beach was gorgeous on Monday! Today we will be at the Fair. We plan on meeting at 3:30 at the front entrance. Will probably stay until 9. Email if you are coming. 

Summer Fun

Hello All!

It is time for summer fun!  I put together a schedule of fun things to do this summer. (Some events details in August are TBA as things and weather get in the way 

 These are NOT school sanctioned get-togethers.  Just an opportunity for our class to see each other during the summertime.  You and your families are welcome to join in any of the dates. The time ranges are when I will physically be at the locations.  You do not have to stay the whole time as I know many kids have other stuff going on! 

Please understand that I will not be able to drive everyone to and from activities.  I do not mind if you drop off kids with me and pick them up later, however, I have made so many great friends with you parents, I would love for you to join me! 

 We will play it by ear as to how big a group we have each time but please email me at lisa@innovationsacademy.org if you will be coming so I know who to expect.  Some events may be subject to change (i.e. locations or times) but I plan to have one beach day a week and a few night activities.  I am excited to see you all!  Other friends, family members are always welcome.  Just remember to RSVP.

  

Monday June 22 10:30-3:30  Pacific Beach at the end of Law Street.  We will be at the bottom of the hill between Law Street and Chalcedony Street.

Thursday June 25 San Diego County Fair (all students were given a free Fair ticket. Thanks Robert!)

Monday June 29 10:30-3:30 South Mission Beach jetty. Bring bikes!

Monday July 6 10:30-3:30 Del Mar Beach 15th Street

Friday July 10 Sundown-1:00am  Santee Drive-In  movies TBA (first movie starts at 8:30 and second starts at 10:35)  $8.00 per person. Pizza provided

Thursday July 16 10:30-3:30 Torrey Pines beach and hike. Drop off at south parking lot.

Friday Aug 14 La Jolla Shores Annual 8th Grade Alumni Beach Day, BBQ and Bonfire. 12:00pm - 10pm.  All 8th grade Alumni from years past are invited.  (anyone willing to get there early to reserve a firepit? ) 

Thursday Aug 20 10:30-3:30 Moonlight Beach

Saturday August 22  6:00pm - 10:30 pm Class of 2015 Family Dinner/Bonfire at Crown Point near Lamont Street.  We will leave after watching Sea World Fireworks

Our final week for the class of 2015!

What a great year!  It has been a pleasure teaching this year's 8th graders.  I will surely miss them.  This week we will be putting together a tentative plan for summer get togethers.  Check future posts for the plan for festivities including beach days, drive-in movies, midnight bowling, etc.

*POLs Tue June 9,Wed June 10, Thur June 11 (see "POL" post for schedule and prep template.)
*Thursday June 11, 5:30-7:30 in MPR - 8th grade promotion. I need help with set-up and break-down!  Please contact me if you can help.  We will have Sombreros mexican food (for immediate family) and cake right after the promotion. Please RSVP asap so I can get a food count.

*Friday June 12 Last day of school beach party.  Drivers still needed! So far I have Jules, Sarah, and Susan and one more? (can't remember who else volunteered. Contact me if you can help and not on this list!)

We had such a great week last week getting ready for POLs and going to Six Flags.  Everyone attempted some rides, and many stayed the night at school.  Please send me pictures!  I somehow managed to get none while at the park . I will post some as soon as they are sent.  I did get a few of the aftermath!
