Day 9

What an incredible trip!  After Monterey Bay we headed back to BigSur.  We headed down a windy 2 mile road to Pfeiffer Beach, where students played on the rocks and sand dunes.  It was a beautiful afternoon full of fun and laughter.  We ended the day with a late dinner of tri-tip and bbq chicken, corn on the cob and fruit.  Kids took advantage of the last night together roasting marshmallows, telling ghost stories and being surprised by a family of skunks!
The following morning, a few brave souls woke up at 7am for a hike to Pfeiffer Falls.  After a pancake breakfast,we loaded up for the long drive home with a stop at McWay Falls and the elephant seals in San Simeon.

Day 8: Monterey Bay Aquarium

Spent a beautiful day in Monterey Bay. The aquarium was so cool. The kids had a behind the scenes tour where they learned about sea otter tagging, great white shark rehab, how the kelp forest stays alive, cultivation of jellyfish, and much more!

Day 7 The Exploratorium and Travel to Bug Sur

Wow. So glad we ended our San Francisco leg of the trip with the Exploratorium. A place for inquiry and exploration. We could have spent all day there! We are now headed to Big Sur and no cellular or wifi. Will check in tomorrow while we are in Monterey.
