I hope you enjoyed the 3 day weekend.
Don't forget, Math test is Tuesday! Students were given practice problems last week as well as study packets over the weekend.
Students not attending our Biosphere trip will be given learning packets tomorrow to complete, either at school or via contract arrangements.

This trip is directly related to our Climate Change project. While there, we will not only tour the Biosphere2, but enjoy a hands on workshop on Climate Change, where we further our knowledge of things we have been learning in class such as climate vs weather and the Greenhouse Effect. After attending the workshop, students will be able to explain the Greenhouse Effect, identify the principal greenhouse gases and construct 3D molecular models. After our tour, we are going to be privileged to be "test subjects" for the Biosphere2 education outreach program. They are developing a curriculum for future visitors called "Sense of Place" that will include up to a 1.5 mile trail hike around the perimeter of the Biosphere. A naturalist on staff will lead groups on this interpretive walk of the Sonoran Desert. The staff asked if we could "test and time" the short hike.
- Please arrive Wednesday at school by 7:30 am so we can start packing the cars. We will be departing as soon as we have all students accounted for.
- Please come to school Wednesday with a full tummy, a sack lunch and snacks for the 7 hour trip. Do not send students with more than a backpack for this trip, as space is going to be very limited in the vehicles on the way there. Anything other than that will need to be on students' laps.
- Spending money isn't essential, but students may want a few dollars to spend in the gift shop or at pit stops along the road.
- Boys and girls will be sleeping in separate rooms, and we'll be requesting devices at bed time to encourage good nights of sleep for all. - Spending money isn't essential, but students may want a few dollars to spend in the gift shop or at pit stops along the road.
We are in for a wonderful week! Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
