Today was an exciting day on and around the Golden Gate. We woke up to a chilly day and walked to the bike shop. Our ride/walk/run/wheelchair(!) took us down the bay through Fort Mason, Chrissy Field and over the Golden Gate Bridge. After a lunch back at the hostel, we headed for Pier 33 and Alcatraz for an audio tour of the cell house. Our last stop of the day was dinner at Fisherman's Wharf.
Student question of the day: Why is the entrance to the San Francisco Bay called the "Golden Gate?"
