Math
fun:
Students
in PreAlgebra have been practicing operations using integers. I
introduced them to the Tenmarks website and they used it during class
time
Students
in Algebra class were introduced to Functions through a game of
Leapfrog. The object of the game is to switch positions of two
sets of colored squares in as little moves as possible. We started
with one of each color, then two, then three.
By the time we had three of each color, students were determined to figure out the pattern. We discovered that we could predict how many moves the game would take for any amount of squares by using a formula that was derived from a table we made.
Buddies
We met our Kindergarten buddies today. We will have fun activities throughout the year such as story writing, hikes, graphing and measurement. Today was all about introductions and getting to know each other.
